Early Childhood Education

Rama has a long history of child care in the community, offering services from 1976 in the facility now known as the Rama Veterans Clubhouse, adjacent to the Rama Veterans Ball Field. In 2005, a new centre was completed with a Grand Opening event held on October 28, 2005. The new centre “Binoojiinsag Kinoomaagewgamig” opened for operation on January 3, 2006 and made more space available for child care, increasing capacity from 80 to 140.

The building was named for a Chippewas of Rama First Nation member, the Honourable James K. Bartleman, who was the 27th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. We were honoured to welcome the Lieutenant Governor to the community on a number of occasions, including both the ground breaking and opening of this facility.

Staff are registered Early Childhood Educators and must be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.  More information about the College of Early Childhood Educators, including the public register.
